Eighteen months on, what began in Syria as an uprising in peaceful protest is now a fierce and callous civil war. At least thirty thousand have died -- half of them civilians -- while a million and a half have been displaced. Diplomatic efforts to halt the bloodshed stall again and again.

In January, 2011, the Egyptian people rose up in protest against their government. This body of work attempts to look at the quieter moments occuring inside Tahrir Square during revolution - how religion, technology, economics, families and boredom also played a part, beyond the violence.
