PRESENTERS
The Woods
Elizabeth Bailey
The Woods depicts my personal journey through a time of transition, one which led me to re-examine my early childhood wounds. I found myself drawn into the woods, as I had been in my youth. Working with my daughter, I re-imagined the past, through the lens of the present.
Window Seat
michael perez
Window seat invites a curious, often overlooked perspective of the world zipping by while traveling by car, plane, and train. Through panoramic photography, each trip is distilled as a fragment in time––a moment rushing between points A to B. The effect is perpetually surprising.
Dont Touch Your Face
Eric Weaver
A self portrait series that helped me maintain focus in the first few weeks of isolation during “safer at home” orders. Heeding the mantra of “don’t touch your face”, the dog cone was used to embody the difficulties that were encountered during the transition into the COVID-19 era.
Vespertine Beings: Those Who Flourish After Dusk
Safi Alia Shabaik
This work explores modern subcultures through themes of identity, gender, and self-representation. These individuals use external creative expression – i.e. costume, persona, ritual, body modification, performance, alter-ego – to reveal their raw selves, foster acceptance, and build community.
Falling Through The Abyss
Roberto Montoya
This is meant to allow the voyeur to fall deep into their most inner discomforts. Falling through the abyss and not into it, this means to not allow these fears and insecurities to trap us in its darkness. We are the ones that control the darkness inside of ourselves.
