Optical Abstractions

Will Gibson

These images were captured with out-of-focus optics in a way that might be described as a cross between street photography and painting. Composition, gesture and color come to the fore over clarity & sharpness. A whole new visual world has opened up for me, and perhaps others, to explore and enjoy.

The Unflinching Eye - A Street Photographers View

Ashi Fachler

The role of the photojournalist and the street photographer converge when street photographers become witnesses to everything happening in public around them. The inevitable interaction between the public, law enforcement and the military brings to light situations documented in this series.

Geothermal

Mickey Strider

A black and white study of the geothermal power plants that dot the southeastern shoreline of California

Modern Mandalas

Bart Ross

In the days of the dark room there was a technique called “flopping”. I take 1 photo, make copies & alter it with my own e-flop creating a new way to look at the world - a kind of visual crack. Since 2009 my project has been to re-photograph everything in this new abstract paradigm.
